My research is primarily focused on investigating mechanisms that regulate fruit and vegetable ripening and postharvest shelf-life using molecular and genomic approaches. I am also interested in studying the role of growth regulators such as abscisic acid, ethylene and brassinosteroids on ripening and postharvest storage. My research also integrates aspects of fruit/vegetable quality attributes (for e.g. phytonutrient levels) during postharvest storage.
